My parents
Many Chinese parents bring up their children in such pattern: one coaxes, the other coerces. Just like most families in China, my parents also teach me in completely different way.
When I was young, my mother seemed to be very strict with me. She always nagged on everything, including what I should wear and when I need to go to bed. Compared with my mother, my father was more easygoing. It was fine to him as long as I did not do anything beyond his lines. My mother always checked everything about me because she worried everything about me. Sometimes, I just could not figure out why she put on nerves all the time. However, my father thought it was my own thing to arrange my life. In addition, the way my parents treated mistakes was different. My mother always punished me physically; sometimes she even punched me on the face. My father turned to the opposite; he used to reason me instead of using force. My mother was like a thunderstorm. If I pissed her off, she often took some extreme measures to let me realize my fault. My father was like a drizzle. He educated me in a mild way, but if made him irritated, it took a long time for him to forgive me. But recently, my parents seem shift their roles. My mother changes her bad temper and she is more like a friend to me. But my father seems to be nagging with age.
