Live in first-tier cities or live in lower-tier cities
Some fifteen years ago, Beishangguang became a hot noun. It represents Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, three first-tier cities in China. At that time, most of graduates chose to stay in or move to these three cities, to seek promising futures. In these young people’s minds, it seems only metropolis could achieve their dreams. But a few years later, things started to change. In recent years, there appeared another phrase, “run away from Beishangguang”, for the hard life in these cities, which caused a heated debate that whether we should go to Beishangguang or come back home.
For people who want to live in these first-tier cities, the biggest advance of these metropolises is that there are a lot of opportunities. Many large multinational corporations set their branch offices in these cities, which offer a number of jobs. What’s more, working in these foreign companies, your promotion totally depends on your ability. If you are competent, you need not complain about your poor family background anymore.
Colorful life is another reason for young people who would like to live in metropolises. Young people are always full of curiosity and energy. Large shopping malls, newfangled themed restaurants, 4D cinemas, all these attract their attentions. As regards the graduates whose universities in large cities, it is too difficult for them to give up these fantastic things.
However, metropolises are not always good. More chances appeal to much more talents. They flow into these cities, seize the opportunities and push you aside. You are under too much pressure and feel breathless. A voice in your mind says, “Come back home.” People in lower-tier cities live relatively slow lives. Therefore, even though the city is noisy, you still feel it is more peaceful than large cities. And the traffic jam is not so terrible, which greatly reduces the suffering time on the road.
Compared with people in first-tier cities, people in lower-tier cities may live more comfortable lives. As we all know, the house prices in large cities are too high to afford to. And the house rent is also much higher than common cities. In lower-tier cities, you can rent a house near the downtown with the same price that rent a house on the outskirts in large cities. The close distance results in the convenient lives. Whatever you want to buy, you get it easily.
Most of young people who run away from first-tier cities will choose to back to their hometown and live with their parents. Even they do not live in their parents’ houses, their parents will regularly visit their houses, clean their rooms, wash their clothes and finally leave a big meal on their tables. The upmost meaning of these acts are not *** children’s lives more comfortable, but comforting their hearts.
Above all, we can see that both live in first-tier cities and live in lower-tier cities have good aspects and bad aspects. Which city you should live in depends on what life you want to live. Think carefully because it concerns your future.

虽然我们只要求写个对比的段落,但这个已经是篇完整的小作文了,内容上看也是比较完整和用心的。most of graduates chose to stay,如果再强烈点语气可以说tried every means to... for the hard life in these cities这个解释似乎不是太明确,可以试试用分词结构,suffering from high cost of living, intense pressure and pollution,随便哪些方面了。these metropolises 这个用的不错,避免和一线城市的一个重复。 all these attract their attentions前面几个并列不错,attract attention似乎语气还是不够强烈,可以试试bewitched, enchanted或者be immersed in 这样的表达。People in lower-tier cities live relatively slow lives. 应该是a slow-paced life。Most of young people who run away from first-tier cities 这里的run away也可以用escape或者flee。总体上感觉还是很好的,请继续努力。
