Study Abroad or Home
To date, a studying-abroad wave is sweeping our country. In an era of science and technology, an increasing number of people intend to study abroad, who are students from universities, from the middle schools, from the primary schools, and people from all walks of life. In consequence, I gradually begin to wonder what are the differences between studying abroad and studying home.
Studying abroad has a great many rewards and advantages. First and foremost, the student can have access to the advanced science and technology as well as the desirable academic environment, which might not be available at home. In the second place, when studying abroad, students will learn how to take care of themselves and live independently. They might run into difficulties in fulfilling even the simplest things at the very beginning, such as grocery shopping, doing laundry, *** living arrangements and chatting with others; but before long, they will adapt to the new circumstance and become self-sufficient. Last but not least, studying abroad allows one to acquire a real knowledge of a new culture and a new language by interacting and communicating with native speakers daily so that they can enhance their foreign language skills and explore the values and ways of life of the host country.
Though many students are crazy about going abroad to pursue their higher education, I am convinced that studying home is preferable. For one thing, you don’t need to take foreign language tests such as TOEFL and GRE, which can undoubtedly save you a large amount of time, money and effort, allowing much of your energy to concentrate on your academic goals. In addition, if you study home, you can stay with your relatives and friends. Meanwhile, you can enjoy the happiness of close friendship and cozy family atmosphere, which you can only dream of in foreign schools, where you will be accompanied by your own shadow most of the time. Therefore studying abroad does have its demerits, regardless of its merits. Most of students are lack of life experience when they first go abroad. Failure to cope with problems that arise from their everyday lives might result in frustration. To make matters worse, they feel helpless, suffer homesick and even lose their confidence in study.
For these reasons, pursuing one’s higher education at home is a more realistic and sensible choice. Moreover, with the rapid development of society, our country is thriving and will be able to offer what we need.

结构和内容都是挺不错的,里面分析的也比较合理。 who are students from universities, from the middle schools, from the primary schools, and people from all walks of life这里还是有点问题的,首先who are这个从句显得比较怪,倒不如省去以同位语形式出现,然后后面几个例子并不是并列关系,比如不同阶段的学生,这是一个递进的关系,年龄段原来越早,所以逻辑上也要稍微考虑下。另外 to acquire a real knowledge of a new culture and a new language,这里有点搭配上的问题,可以说acquire a new language, experience a different culture and explore a new world. 总体上还是很好的。
