As we all know, China has a vast territory. Therefore, different regions in China have different climates. For I am a student from Hebei province and now studying in Nanjing, I have a deep impression on this problem. I will take the winter in Nanjing and the winter in my hometown for an example.
Generally speaking, the winter in my hometown is hard. It’s more like a hard wa***re between human and nature. The temperature in the whole winter almost never becomes above zero. The chill northeast wind is blowing everyday. When the cold air touches you face, it feels like knife stabbing. Each one in outdoors has to wear as heavily as a bear. However the weather is quiet good. Most of the days in winter are sunny, the sky is very clear. Sometimes it snows heavily, which makes the whole city becomes white.
In contrasting to the hard winter in my hometown, the winter in Nanjing can be described as mild. Everything is mild. The temperature is mild, just a heavy jacket can make people feel warm. The wind is mild. The wind sometimes even can’t blow the leaves off the branches. The rain is mild. Unlike the sunny weather in my hometown, most of the days in Nanjing’ winter are rainy. But the rain is quiet gentle, we even can’t see any drops, but we would get wet soon without an umbrella.
Those are the difference of the winters in Nanjing and in my hometown. Which one do you like better? I have to say that I love them both, because both of them have their own unique charm.

这个题目和切入点选择的很好，形容冬天我们用severe比较多，The temperature in the whole winter almost never becomes above zero.这里显得不是很冷，要是强调冷，应该讲 with the lowest temperature about ... 或者the average winter temperature is rarely below ... When the cold air touches you face, it feels like knife stabbing.这里stab是捅的意思，应该是风如刀割吧，可以说The wind was slicing through his overcoat,或者The north wind cuts like a knife. 后面In contrasting to是错误的用法，前面说雪后面也可以把雪作为一个对比点，可以讲雪在南京很少见之类的。
