e. g. He professed his admiration for their work.

adj. (of a process) that cannot be stopped or changed 不可阻挡的,无法改变的
e. g. The rise of crime in this village is inexorable.
mine: The inexorable change of globalization has influenced the whole world.
4.exhilarate
v. to make sb feel very happy and excited 使高兴,使兴奋,使激动
e. g. Speed had always exhilarated him.
mine: Playing ball games can exhilarate every dog.

v. (1)(informal) to hit sb/sth very hard 猛打,重击,狠揍
(2)(spoken) to put sth somewhere without much care 草草放下
n. (1)(informal0 the act of hitting sb/sth hard; the sound made by this 重击,重击声)
(2)(BrE) a share of sth; a amount of sth 一份,量
e. g. She whacked him with her bag.
Just whack your bag in the corner.
You have to pay the full whack.
