My hometown
My hometown is located in Xinzhou of Shan Xi province, when it comes to Shan Xi, most of us will think of coal. However, I will introduce other aspects about my hometown to you.
Xinzhou is in the north of Shanxi, which next to Inner Mongolia. From what we had learned in geographic class, we can know that my hometown is in the region of the loess plateau. So in the spring, there always are sand storm. With improving the awareness of people and implementing the related policy, the environment is becoming better and better. As the saying goes on the mountain one lives by mountain products. Many fishermen will fish in the Yellow River when the ice melts; this kind of fish is so popular that it takes several hundred Yuan per kilogram, which is also called “Yellow river fish” by local people. At the same time, just because of next to Inner Mongolia, some customs are similar to Mongolian, for an instance, liking eating mutton.
Besides, there are some historical places in my hometown. Mount Wutai, also called Qing Liang Shan, is one of the famous scenic sports, what’s more, it is one of the Four Sacred Mountains in Chinese Buddhism, and it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.
Finally, if you want to come Xinzhou, and learn more about it, you should know a person, called Bai Pu, he was a famous litterateur in Yuan dynasty, and regarded as Four Great with another three people. Nowadays, there is a Bai Pu park which is in honor of him.
This is my hometown. As the lyrics said, Shan Xi has good scenery.
