One of most suitable places for human to live—Liuzhou
I believe everyone could say something when mentions Guilin, a city whose landscape was regarded as the best among all under heaven. In the splendor of Guilin, cities around it would seem to lose their glamour and attentions from tourists. However, today I’d like to move your focus a bit southerly to a modest city, Liuzhou. It’s the city where I’ve grown up, and it’s the city which the formal president Hu praised as “picturesque scenery” and “one of the most suitable places for human to live”.Believe it or not, wherever minibus you see, if it was not made in Shanghai, then it must come from the city of Liuzhou. Yes, Liuzhou is an industrial city. General Motors, LiuGong, Liang Mianzhen are our pillar industries to name just a few. But you are totally wrong if you think industrial means polluted. Liuzhou is such an example to show that development and environment can go on well. With the typical Karst landform, a mix of rolling hills, mountain peaks and caves, she has a similar appearance as Guilin’s, and less tourists make her picturesque scenery more natural, and because of the warmer climate, she wear the color of green all year long. Naturally, it is the ideal place for human to live.
For the aspect of humanity, it’s also a suitable place to enjoy lives. Unlike big cities where fast is the key word, the small and medium-sized city has its own charming. Take the bus for example; taking the bus is like taking a sightseeing vehicle, it never drive too fast and it won’t start until every passenger has seated smoothly and safely. Young people always offer their seats to the elders, for the city is small and the bus system is covered the whole city completely. There is no need to be rush and quarrel. Buses in Liuzhou are symbols of harmony. Being the railroad junction of Guangxi, shopping in Liuzhou is available to all people with different income. The most luxurious shopping mall lies in this city, while life necessities remain the cheapest. Life expenses are much lower than you expected, especially for people who love fruits. Warmer climate makes plenty of tropical fruits available, which means fruits above ten yuan per kilogram will be considered expensive.
I’ve been studied in Nanjing for three years. Every time when I took the crowded public transportation, watching people cursing the throng or complaining the pressure of the fast lives, I can’t help thinking and missing Liuzhou.
