My Hometown
Qujing, called the “Strategic Gateway” of Dian and Qian and the “Throat” of Yunnan, is located in the east of Yunnan province and spreads over an area of 33,821 square kilometers. It is the cradle Of Zhujiang River which is the first great river in south and the third in China, also called the first city of the source of Zhujiang River. Its uniqueness attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists every year.
Different places of historical relics and scenic beauty.
The First Emperor constructed Wuchidao which promoted the development of border area; Emperor Wu of Han exploited the south of China and set up Wei County; Zhugeliang pacified the south and established Jianning County, and so on. In addition to the historical relics, there are numerous scenic areas, for example, Natural Hole, the underground art palace, is named the second wonder of Yunnan; Luoping scenic area, includes the magnificent Kowloon Falls group, the gorgeous Duoyi River, and “Little Three Gorges” of Lubuge Canyon; The majestic view, lovely scenery, serene environment and matchless landscape characterize the Colorful Sand Forest, the geographic spectacle and etc.
Rich and varied customs and styles of minorities.
You can experience the unique language, clothing, customs and beliefs of the eight ethnic minorities, such as the Torching Festival of Yizu, the Huashan Festival of Miaozu, and the Eid-al-Fitretc of Huizu. What’s more, there are lots of festival events, like dragon dance, lion dance, high stilts, land boat, dyeing of rice, water gun, grabbing huapao and so on. All of these make people linger on.
The picturesque views, rich history and culture and diverse ethnic customs bring up the various and abundant tourist resources and attract batches of people every year. I can say it’s a must-visit spot or a holiday resort for everyone. Although Qujing has beautiful sceneries, the developed tourism industry results in the environmental disruption or the destruction of ecological balance. The pollution of Dianci Lake is a typical example. For these, my advice is that we should delay the exploitative pace and be harmony with nature.
