My Hometown
Located in the southern part of Jiangsu Province, Li Yang, as my hometown, is really close to Nanjing. Famous as it is for the Tianmu Lake, the beautiful town enjoys much more fantasy than have been expected.
I would like to visit my grandparents’ home in the uptown as I was a little girl. The greatest fun always lay in the farmland. When I was young, I would never feel tired of crossing the field time after time. Stuck by the abundance in the earth, it is since then that I have been able to recognize quite a few types of vegetarians and grain. Apart from the prestigious earthenware pot fish head, the white celery, or water celery, another specialty here in Liyang, has induced thousands of people with its irresistable scent, whether they are local or outsiders. What’s more, the greens, spinach, cabbages, shepherd’s purse and all, in recognition of which, my knowledge in terms of common sense has largely expanded. The tiresome of shelling beans and sesame could always be compensated by a pan of egg dumplings and a large bowl of Tuanzi, the rice dumpling made of glutinous rice mixed with vanilla, with various fillings of sesame, pork and sweetened bean paste for you to choose.That was the most satisfying moment of the day.
Today, though not as naughty as what I was before, it’s still undeniable that being exposed in the sun on the farmland is extremely warm and comfortable, as if we were immersed in the clouds, with the special mixture of scent from both the sun and the soil lingering in my nose.
