Our City
After the College Entrance Examination in2011,I was admitted by China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing.Gradually becomes my second home and I want to stay here to begin with my new life.
Nanjing is in the south-eastern part of China.It is the capital of Jiangsu Province,and a city with a prominent place in Chinese history and culture.Scenic spots and historic sites spread all over the city.The city was founded 2500 years ago,served as the capital of China during ten historical periods and is listed as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.
Nanjing has always been one of China's most important cities. Apart from having been the capital of China for six dynasties and of the Republic of China, Nanjing has also served as a national center of education, research, transportation and tourism throughout history. With an urban population of over five million, it is also the second largest commercial center in the East China region, after Shanghai.
Nanjing has a humid subtropical climate.Seasons are distinct in Nanjing,with usually hot summers and frigid winter.If you live here you will find summer and winter are so closed.Once after winter,it will get hot soon,even without a transitional period.Along with Wuhan and Chongqing,Nanjing is often referred to as one of the “Three hottest cities”for the hot weather in summer.
If you visit Nanjing, you would be glad to seize the chance to enjoy the delicious food in the streets and alleyways such as boiled salted duck, osmanthus cake, steamed buns and duck blood soup. Meanwhile, the local people are honest and hospitable. When you get lost in the city, any passers-by can be your kind guider.This kind of warm-hearted local people would make you feel at home.
Surrounded by the Yangtze River and mountains, Nanjing also enjoys beautiful natural scenery. Natural lakes such as Xuanwu Lake and Mochou Lake are located in the center of the city and are easily accessible to the public. When at dusk, sitting in the bench along the lake, watching the sunset and enjoying the neon lights shining up around the buildings are extremely pleasant. While hills like Purple Mountain are covered with evergreens and oaks and host various historical and cultural sites. At the top of the mountain, the scenery of the whole city comes into your eyes.
