My hometown
My hometown is a small city located in the area we called land of honey and milk. It is often quiet and peaceful. I can often walk to many places in downtown because it is not very big. There are many small towns around the city center and you can drive there to experience the scene of water towns. The climate is typical southern style there, extremely hot in summer and cold the same outside and inside in winter. However, when spring and autumn come, I can feel breeze flowing through the fields of crops and enjoy the odor of the plants in the countryside. My hometown has the scenery of historic towns in south east China. The old stone bridges and the manpower rowing boat move on the river with the special tune of the Wu dialect suffusing in the air which can give you a soft feeling like the warm brush washing through your face.
The scenery there is not as majestic as that in North China with the endless grassland and the massive rampart. It has its own character for the visitors who like peace. The view that water flowing beneath a little bridge sound like the quiet picture only with the sound of running water and people stepping on the stones. When you want to release you can find your own peaceful manor there. If you still have energy to enjoy yourself you can go to downtown like in the big cities, seeing the nonstop vehicle and rush people on the pedestrian street. I believe whether you step onto the flagstone to feel silence or walk along the street to enjoy the impassioned scenes, you can own both in my hometown. Maybe many young people think that water town is not so fun to visit but actually I consider that it is scrumptious the quiet atmosphere along with endless visitors. When you come to water town you can also find it is amazing to see the green rippling lake with hot fermented bean curd in the hand. What’s more you can enjoy the most fresh vegetables and freshwater fish at any moment as soon as possible. It is healthy and marvelous when you find the fish-hunters next to you when you are just eating the fish they hunted.
Anyway, regardless of the water, the food or the silence, you can have your soul out to get cleaned and think more with such surrounding. With misty rain and rural joy, I take it as a good place to embrace.
