Nanjing, in my memory, is a dream lover of every scholar. Nanjing is both romantic and realistic, most people would be deeply addicted to her.
Every scenery in Nanjing is too poetic to forget, especially when you notice the faraway mountains and nearby water disappearing from your eyes unexpectedly. In spite of crystal clear waters, vibrant stretching flatlands, and luxuriant green trees alongside the roads, you could not ignore those huge obsolete factory chimneys as well, which are enormous pillars, broken off at unequal heights.
And the most beautiful scene in Nanjing happens in raining days. Just imagine that you are walking in the rain, hearing the sound of rainwater dropping on the ground, and occasionally meet someone you have never met before and will never meet again. You should be very quiet and careful to avoid waking yourself from such a fascinating dream.
Nanjing is also realistic because the social developments has brought us a modern city with new living environment. When you are stepping deeper on the ground of Nanjing, you will find yourself lost in the crisscross roads, which look like spider webs, connecting every corner in the city. Meanwhile, when you get into the heart of Nanjing, you will be assaulted by clusters of buildings, and there is no silent night sky anymore, lamplights are taking place of poetic moonlight, secular noises and bustles are singing till dawn permanently.
