Transformation of values — what SNS reflects
Talking about SNS(Social Network Service) — QQ zones , RenRen sites , blogs , twitters , and facebooks , how many of them do you possess ? I bet everyone , especially young people , has at least two of them . SNS has provided “strong” functions – one can express any mood and emotion at will , put pictures online , and can also share what others put on their SNS which one find interesting or meaningful . However , the rapid use of SNS can lead to unexpected problems , transformation of values is one of them .
In year 2008 , a college senior A should have wrote her graduation essay and found a job , which were heavy tasks and time consuming . In contrast to this , she spent a great deal of time playing an online game called “purchase of friends” . This game created by a SNS website called “KaiXin” was very popular among young people at that time . Actually , who A communicated with were her friends’ virtual characters , and the reason why this game was so welcome was that not only could it upload music , send virtual gifts and comment on movies , it also included two SNS games – “purchasing of friends” and “robbing cars” .
This kind of games have attracted millions of young people to play , for example , A often played them till the midnight , which have affected her routine of learning and getting along with others . And anther college student B in Beijing were crazy about this game . He used this game as a tool to release his anger and to pay out – if he quarreled with his roommates , he would buy a pet having the same name as the roommate , and then asked the pet to brush the toilet or beat him . After some moment , his irritation would go away .
From the above instance , we can see that just a common SNS game can distort people’s values – they would feel oppressive both on study and work , and also wanted to compare with each other . This game could help them release their unhappiness , but it also could help them develop some bad habits learnt from the internet . After all , the way to solve conflicts is not to revenge but to talk with each other heart to heart .
Actually , this is only a tiny thing we will meet in daily life and we often see some articles or some pictures immoral . Everyday internet will appear some bad words with changed pronunciation , such as “nima(尼玛)” , “niya(你丫)” and so on . We have to admit that all these SNS bring to us will affect us unconsciously . Therefore , it's time to pay attention to what SNS presents to us and what it does to change our values .
