My Dorm

My dorm is on the fourth floor and shared by four of us. On opening the door, it will show itself in a rectangular shape and well organized furnishment. With four floor-to-ceiling wardrobes on the right and a washing room on the left, there makes out a short doorway leading right to center of the dorm. Since the room is regularly cleaned in turns among us, things like shampoos and toothpastes are orderly placed on the washing table, and the floor is often mopped and free from any undesirable girls’ hairs. Further in the room are our own districts with a large table and book shelf and a single bed above for each of us. Since there is no more furniture added to the origin, and with the prudently cleaned floor and tables, our dorm seems quite spacious and bright.
On my own table, in the middle is my lamp, a pen container and a box for waifs and strays. There are some books lined on the right side and several back numbers lay on the left. Those books are usually thick and heavy and full of pharmaceutical knowledge and the magazines about fashion and stories are for casual leafing. However, sitting in front of the table, the first thing comes into eye will be some pictures of my siblings and friends hung on the back of the shelf. I would like to keep them where my eyes can most conveniently reach, because their genuine and happy smiles and those V shaped finger gestures are exactly where my life drives come from. The middle layer of the book shelf is full of textbooks notebooks dictionaries and vocabulary books which tell much about my English major. On the top, there are several boxes respectively for medicine, headgears, stationery, scissor and needles insuring that they can be quickly fetched when in need. My tennis racket hangs on the wall vacated by the shelf on its right. Her being there just reminds me that I should have done a lot more exercise. Above the shelf is my little cozy bed covered by recently sunbathed quilts.
Opening the door leading to the balcony, you will be attracted by an open view compromised of wild field of natural beauty out side campus and green football playing ground and several basketball playing courts. A small grass patch growing bamboo spreads out just below the building. In a spring morning, standing on the balcony, you can smell a kind of special aroma which perfuses the air. That is from newly trimmed plants. On a fine day, you will see a number of basketball players on the play ground enjoying themselves in the competing and scoring. You will unconsciously move close to the railing, let your chin prop on your hand and watch them passing, running and doing false motions. Or maybe you are not actually watching. Their active motions and continuous putt-putts just stretch your imagination and expand it with the infinite sky, *** you forget about the time and the reality.
