Me in the Eyes of Other People
When we get along with people, we are all trying to behave well to leave a good impression on others. Because of different relationship and different intimacy with different people, we appear to have various characters and distinct images. However, on the whole, their views on me have something in common, which are included in my general features. To conclude, I am an easy-going, helpful, but irresolute slowpoke.
Seldom do I complain about dealing with somebody, because I like observing others’ positive characters and strong points. On the opposite, their shortcomings will be impaired, which I pay little to. After all, “every coin has two sides”, anyone with merits deserves appreciation, anyone with defects deserves forgiveness. That is why I can have a good relationship with others.
Nearly all my friends hold a constant view that I am too ready to help, no matter whether the aid is needed or not needed. In the train station, for example, if there is a woman filled with heavy bags, I cannot help rushing to share some bags, though sometimes I was misunderstood. On the other hand, it’s easy for me fall into evil traps. Last semester, when I was wandering down the street, a couple came to beg some money for being lost and hungry, which won so much my mercy that I was not in a position to suggest seeking policemen for help. When I tried to draw out money from my bag, I noticed their greedy and impatient eyes. They ended up accepting money without saying thanks, which demonstrated to me that they succeeded in finishing a “trade”. So being helpful cautiously is quite necessary.
Every semester, my roommates will have a short journey to some places of interest. The first time they decided to climb mountain, I hesitated because I was anxious whether there would be bad weather, heavy traffic, expensive charge and so on. They made every effort to persuade me out of so much unnecessary worries. Until the night before the due day did I announce that I would join. I really take too much into account, which also brings about some trouble. Actually, I was also the last student to hand in my math homework before I’m a college student. I have a bad habit to check my answers again and again lest any mistakes are made, which helps me achieve highest math marks in the class but become a slowpoke. Gradually, my friends are used to regard me as an irresolute slowpoke.
Someone once said that a question mark looks a man bending down to ask something, because he himself is a riddle. However, people around him can see clearly how he is. So it is necessary to know about yourself through others, and you can find another distinguished kind of you.
