Inequality and Education
Recent years, the problems that education inequality brought have drawn much more attention to the public than ever. Education inequality is reflected in the inequality of opportunities between men and women to receive education, and inequalities between the wealthy and the poor. These all make equal education difficult to achieve. The fact is that inequality of education is and has been widespread, from the west to the east, the Socialist society to the Capitalist society.
Statistics from UN reveals a demonstration that of among every four children in the world, there is one child who cannot be able to receive the regular full-time education every year. The factors of *** this situation are uncountable. There still exists ***ism in some countries, which makes the opportunities of receiving regular education for girls much less than boys. And the insufficiency of education resources in some areas, which are below the poverty-line, is the reason of primary school graduation rates becoming less than one-third.
The situation in America is equal bad. Americans have always advocated an elitism society. Americans tend to be ruled by elites as they think an elitism society is better than other forms. The present elites might have been the people from the bottom of society. But in present days, most of elites are hereditary, which means the labors and poor people are no longer, or less likely possible to become a part of middle class, let alone the elites. Wealthy people are happy to afford their child an opportunity to get enrolled in a better primary school, or a private school, on the contrary, poor people are impossible to do the same, instead of that, their child receives a worse education. The hereditary elites complete a vicious cycle finally.
No matter it is in the west countries or China, the elitism worship is widespread as Coke. In China, the key university is another form of elitism education. ***s are advocating key university while they are trying to eliminate poverty. It is quiet a paradox. The only way to get out of the puzzle dilemma is to make sure every single person enjoy the same right to receive primary and higher education, which means the right cannot be disturbed by whatever money and social position.
