The inequality of higher education in my mind
As the rapid development of our motherland, higher education enrolment rate has been rising perpendicularly, which has triggered off Hurrahs at the beginning. Nevertheless, the employment status deals a direct blow at the public. It can be foreseen that countless complaints lingered in our ears. Higher education is constantly judged to be inequitable. Yet, from my perspective, the definition of education is arbitrary.
Indeed, problems are always there, no matter what kind of education system is meticulously established. Nowadays, the severest aspects should be the tuition fee and the distribution of teaching resources. Facing these “inequalities”, we can analyse them from different ways. From my standpoint, I would like to utilize a competitive strategy.
First, we discuss the tuition fee. Thousands of yuan certainly transform into a heavy burden on some poor family. But effective solutions, varying in not only the amount of money but the origins, are come up with in universities. The bonuses can be classified by several origins, like government, school and supportive companies. Academic record is not the sole criteria, while the progress, the achievement of work and the family status are also taken into consideration. So other paths are available to the poor students, by which they can fulfill their budget. If you could show your competitiveness, financial obstacle would be step over easily. Then we come to the distribution. This is the other focus that most complaints concern about. But the current situation is so many students haven’t taken full advantage of the teaching resources, like library, laboratory, gymnasium, or even the teachers or professors. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Some rare equipments and facilities must be limited even considerable development will have occurred to your school, so just fight for the bright future.
We must acknowledge a practical situation that we can not be competitive enough with the diploma of compulsory education. The supply-demand relationship tells us the answer when we face the condition that China is labeled the country with the world's largest population. In that case, some inequalities acceptable are necessary for the process from youth, being in ivory towers since born, to adult, taking responsibility for oneself.
